Steelseries x Targus Sniper 17 gaming backpack released

Gaming peripherals brand Steelseries has got together with Targus “the original creator of the laptop bag”, to create the SteelSeries x Targus Sniper Gaming Backpack. This new product is claimed to offer great protection for your computer hardware and the versatility to comfortably accommodate your laptop (up to 17.3-inches) and various other gaming peripherals.

The Sniper 17 aims to be an essential part of your e-athletic gear with its durable exterior, robust padded laptop compartment and ‘SafePort Sling Protection’ system that suspends your laptop within. Thus you are protected against the everyday hazards of weather and wear, and careless knocks and drops. If you are out in a downpour the bag includes an integrated rain cover too.

For versatility, various compartments are detachable. Steelseries reckons it has leveraged “clever materials choices” to make the storage of various gear more safe and secure. In an email to HEXUS, Steelseries listed the highlights of the Sniper 17 as follows:

We have been told that the Steelseries x Targus Sniper 17 will be available today at £129.99 from select online etail partners and direct channels. However, the Steelseries page order button is still a ‘Notify Me’ button, at the time of writing.

HEXUS has reported upon several previous gaming backpack launches. Last year we saw Asus reveal the ROG Ranger Backpack, currently selling for approx £90. Then there was the HP Powerup Backpack, which has the capability to recharge your laptop, priced at about US$180. However, there are lots and lots of versatile 17-inch laptop backpacks available for about £30 and up. Do HEXUS readers have any recommended choices to share?
