‘Super Smash Bros.’ Nintendo Switch Port Amiibo Data Reveals At Least One New Character

It’s been awhile since we heard any news or rumors regarding a Super Smash Bros . port for the Nintendo Switch but some new amiibo certificate listings may be teasing not only a release date window but a new character.

According to the official Nintendo of America website — via Keengamer — CPSIA certificates can be found and viewed including all of the amiibo that have ever been released. But four new mysterious amiibo certificates were filed on March 6.

Cross Referencing past data, each series of amiibo maintains an identifier that uses the first two letters of the item number. For example, AK is for the Legend of Zelda, AQ for Fire Emblem and AA for Super Smash Bros.

The four mystery amiibo are part of the Smash series with the first three slots going to Bayonetta, Corrin and Cloud, three DLC characters whose amiibos were announced for a 2016 release but have since been delayed due to unknown reasons.

The fourth amiibo is still unknown but with the confirmation that it is part of the Smash series, fans should expect at least one new character whenever a Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch port is released.

So when can fans expect the Smash Switch port? Well, Keengamer took the data and used an information database like Wayback Machine to figure out that the release between certification and release is about 60 days, that would put the Smash amiibo release date at around May.

Of course, this is all speculation and until Nintendo reveals any information this should all be taken with a grain of salt.

But it’s always fun to speculate so who do you believe this fourth Smash amiibo will depict? Do you think we’ll get a Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch port this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
