Titanfall and Call of Duty veterans will bring a VR game to Oculus Rift in 2019

Respawn Entertainment, creator of Titanfall shooter game, said that it will create a VR game for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset in 2019. The odds are good that it will be a Titanfall game, but the company didn’t specifically say that.

Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn, announced in a video played at the Oculus Connect event today that VR is an immersive platform that really makes you feel like you’re inside the world of a game, and it’s time to take the shooter franchise into VR.

Jason Rubin, vice president of content at Oculus, said he promised that the biggest games and franchises would come to VR. He said the Respawn announcement is a “down payment on that promise.”

Respawn joins companies such as Marvel, Warner Bros., and Bethesda that are bringing their big console and PC franchises to VR. VR sales have been slow, and the platform needs a boost from the most popular games in order to boost those sales.
