Windows 10 Redstone 4 (RS4) Builds Changelog

 

Microsoft has released the new Windows 10 version “Windows 10 Fall Creators Update” to public on October 17, 2017. Now the company has started releasing builds for the next version of Windows 10 codenamed as Redstone 4.

In this article, we’ll list all changes, improvements and new features found in newer RS4 builds released after Windows 10 Fall Creators Update public build.

Windows 10 Build 10.0.16353 Changelog:

Build 16353 was the 1st Insider Preview build of Windows 10 released after Fall Creators Update build 16299 (RedStone 3). It was released on August 31, 2017. This new build arrived via new “RS4” (RedStone4) development branch.

  • When the Action Center is black (the default option) the “clear all”, “expand”/”collapse”, and “see more” link text will now all use your accent color – making them pop more and improving discoverability.
  • Updated the Action Center to now support a two finger touch gesture to dismiss all notifications. Place two fingers vertically within the Action Center near the edge opposite to the side of your screen. Then slide these fingers towards the side of the screen. You will notice all notification groups following your fingers and then dismissing as you slide your fingers off the side of the screen.

Windows 10 Build 10.0.16362 Changelog:

Build 16362 was the 2nd Insider Preview build of Windows 10 released after Fall Creators Update. It was released on September 13, 2017. This new build arrived via new “RS4” (RedStone4) development branch.

  • New “Use my sign-in info to apply my settings after I restart or update my device” option under “Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in Options -> Privacy” section.
  • Updates to Run dialog box so when you hold “Ctrl+Shift” keys and then click OK or press enter, it will run that task or program elevated, just like how it works in Cortana.
  • Now the Action Center uses “AM/PM” symbols when indicating timestamp with the 12hr clock format, rather than “a/p”.

  • The feature to restore applications that have registered for application restart after you reboot or shutdown (through power options available on the Start Menu and various other locations) has been set to only occur for users that have enabled “Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting my device after an update or restart” in the Privacy section of “Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in Options” page
  • New “HDR and advanced color settings” option in “Settings -> System -> Display” page to adjust how bright SDR content appears when running in HDR mode on desktop
