RTX 3060 ROG Strix: small card, big heatsink!

After Sapphire and its passive RX 5700 XT, it is Asus’ turn to unveil a graphics card. Indeed, the brand announces its RTX 3060 ROG Strix, a “small” card with a big heatsink!

With this new model, Asus keeps its large heatsink based on three fans. Moreover, under this fairing, an important network of heat pipes and aluminum fins is hidden. In fact, there are three blocks of fins crossed by a total of five heatpipes. Finally, three axial fans with semi-passive operation ensure the good cooling of this reference.

In terms of features, the board uses nVidia’s GA106-300 GPU, which contains 3584 Cuda Core, 112 TMU and 64 ROPs. In terms of memory, we have 12 GB of GDDR6 at 15 Gbps based on a 192-bit bus. Finally, the thermal envelope is 170W.

In terms of connections, this reference offers something complete. We have two HDMI outputs and three DisplayPorts connectors available. The power supply part has an 8-pin PCIe connector.

For the moment, according to VideoCardz the frequencies and the final price are not yet known. Moreover, with such a heatsink, it would not be surprising to see a factory overclocked model.
