2K released the final DLC for WWE 2K17 this week, titled Hall of Fame Showcase.
With 2K dumping the Showcase mode, which focused on a single wrestler’s career, the Hall of Fame Showcase is a great way for fans to relive some great moments in professional wrestling history. While WWE 2K17 is short on many legendary names (sorry Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake), the Hall of Fame Showcase never disappoints with their match selections…for the most part.
Here is the full list of matches available to play in WWE 2K17’s Hall of Fame Showcase mode, which will also include video introductions explaining the importance of these matches.
- Cactus Jack and Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin and Michael “PS” Hayes) (WCW Saturday Night 1992)
- The Fabulous Freebirds (Buddy Roberts and Michael “PS” Hayes) vs. Kerry and Kevin Von Erich (WCCW 1986)
- Ivory vs. Jacqueline (SmackDown 2000)
- Sting (gold and black tights) vs. Ric Flair (Clash of Champions 1988)
- Sting (n.W.o. Wolfpac ring gear) vs. Bret Hart (WCW Halloween Havoc 1998)
- Papa Shango vs. The Godfather (Dream Match)
- Big Boss Man (with Albert) vs. The Big Show (Armageddon 1999)
This year’s matches for the Hall of Fame Showcase is one of the best this game has ever had, but for one exception. Papa Shango vs. The Godfather is the one match that stands out because Papa Shango and The Godfather is the same man who had numerous gimmicks with the WWF/E. I’m pretty sure that no one would believe that Papa Shango and The Godfather is a dream match that anyone would want to see. The Papa Shango character was one of the worst in wrestling history and The Godfather was not known for his in-ring work, but instead for the ladies he brought to the ring.
The WWE 2K17 Hall of Fame Showcase costs $9.99 but it is free for WWE 2K17 Season Pass subscribers. For fans of WWE 2K17 on the PC, you will see the Hall of Fame Showcase soon as 2K will release the DLC at a later date. Check out the trailer for this DLC below.
