Xiaomi Brings Back Good Old Days With Mi 10 Youth Doraemon Edition

While companies like ZTE are busy developing under-display camera tech for smartphones, OEMs like Xiaomi are bringing back the nostalgia with Mi 10 Youth Doraemon Edition, and people on social media are just losing it! Doraemon — I’m pretty sure if you’re a 90s kid, you would know — is an iconic character from a Japanese Anime, that had a significant role in our lives. And when I say ‘our’, I speak for all of us who are still 10-year old at-heart.

This isn’t the first time Xiaomi has come up with a special edition of a smartphone. The company also released a Lamborghini Electric Go Kart a short while go, with, obviously, in partnership with Lamborghini.

The device looks same from the front, but to give it a special edition look, Xiaomi has developed a Doraemon MIUI theme, which you can even install it on your Xiaomi phone. The package of the box, which is also Doraemon-focused, includes a Doraemon figure, Doraemon case, and Doraemon box.

Although specifications don’t really matter when it comes to these kinds of smartphones, but for the sake of it, let’s go through it quickly. Mi 10 Youth Doraemon Edition has a 6.57-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2400 pixels (401 PPI) in the front. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and has a 4160 mAh battery inside. The smartphone is 5G compatible, too.

Mi 10 Youth Doraemon Edition: Pricing and Availability

Well, of course, the phone comes in only one variant — blue colour, with a giant Doraemon, face at the bottom of the rear glass panel. The phone comes in a single configuration (8GB + 256GB) and is priced at ¥2,799 ($407).

It’s China-exclusive, and we don’t really expect it to launch anywhere else in the world. So you’ll have to rely on AliExpress/BangGood or some other Chinese store if you really want to grab a piece of this. The phone is currently on sale in China, though you may have to wait for it to be listed on these China stores.
