Xiaomi launched its first foldable smartphone earlier this year. The Mi Mix Fold launched in China comes with top-of-the-line flagship specifications with a folding display. Almost a couple of months after its unveiling, Xiaomi is rumoured to make the Mix Fold available globally. According to XiaomiUI, the foldable smartphone is set to release by the end of May. The Xiaomi updates tracker account has also listed the price of the foldable smartphone. According to the leaked inputs, Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone will launch at a price higher than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 in Europe. Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold tipped to make a global debut later this month
Xiaomi is tipped to launch the Mi Mix Fold globally later this month. Ahead of the official confirmation, the device’s pricing details have leaked.
According to XiaomiUI, the foldable smartphone will launch in Europe for EUR 1,999, which is roughly Rs 1,78,400. Users will get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Notably, this is higher than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, which was launched for around EUR 1,930. The Fold 2 price in India is set at Rs 1,49,999.
The Xiaomi foldable was launched in China for CNY 9,999, which is roughly Rs 1,11,747. It comes in 12GB + 256GB storage configuration. There is also a 12GB + 512GB storage option priced at CNY 10,999 (roughly Rs 1,22,900). There is also a Ceramic Edition with a Kevlar texture that comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. This limited-edition model is priced at CNY 12,999, which is roughly Rs 1,45,200.
Prices of smartphones in Europe is comparatively higher due to local taxes and duty. We can expect the Mi Mix Fold’s price in India to be lower than the European pricing.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold specifications
The Mi Mix Fold comes with a cover display and an in-wards folding 8.1-inch WQHD+ screen with a 2480 x 1860 resolution. The foldable AMOLED screen does not have any hole-punch cutout for the front camera and offers an edge-to-edge viewing experience. It also comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. On the outside, the 6.52-inch 90Hz cover display.
Xiaomi claims that the Mi Mix Fold’s display can be folded a million times. There is a hinge mechanism made up of a non-magnetic steel plate beneath the display. Under the hood, the foldable phone packs a 5,020 mAh battery. It comes with 67W wired fast charging support. The device draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
