Windows 3.0 File Manager Now Available on Windows 10

No kidding, the Windows 3.0 version of File Manager is now available on Microsoft Store as a Windows UWP app, reborn as an open source project maintained on Github, which provides a native x86 and x64 desktop version for all currently supported version of Windows.

But if you are using Windows 10, head over to Windows File Manage app page on Microsoft Store, which opens the Microsoft Store app on your computer. From there, you can install the UWP version of Windows File Manage right on your Windows 10 computer.

It works actually really well. Not only does it includes pretty much all the basic features you expect from a File Manager, but it also has some of the features that are not available on the native File Explorer on Windows 10.

You can compress/uncompress files and launch cmd or PowerShell shell right from the File menu. If you have a version of Bash shell installed, you can launch that too.

You can expand a folder to one level or all level at once. It could be useful sometime but make sure it doesn’t have hundreds of subfolders as it may take a long time to navigate them all.

It has a full set of confirmation options to choose from. Click Options > Confirmations, and pick ones you don’t need confirmation.

You can even change the font if you are tired of the default Windows 3.0 fonts. For me, I just switched to Input Mono when I see the option. Go to Options > Font…
